Shamrocks Ballyhale made it four wins from four in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling League last night.
They defeated Dicksboro 3-21 to 0-23, maintaining their perfect record and putting themselves in a strong position heading into the latter stages of the league.
Despite the unbeaten run, manager Mark Aylward says there is still plenty for his side to work on.
“We’d be delighted with the four wins and the eight points and it puts us, I think, in a league final.
“But look, it’s still the league, and the championship is what it’s all about.
Aylward says the league final will provide another opportunity to give game time to players returning from injury, as well as others who have had limited opportunities.
He was pleased to get through a physical contest against Dicksboro, but admitted there were aspects of the performance that left him dissatisfied.
“It was a tough game, a physical game. Dicksboro brought a lot to it, and obviously the sending off, so it probably opened up for us a bit in the end.
“But look, there’s a lot of stuff we have to work on ourselves. A lot of stuff we wouldn’t be happy with.”
Glenmore And Clara Share The Spoils
In the other Kilkenny Senior Hurling League game last night, Glenmore and Clara played out a draw.
The sides couldn’t be separated after an entertaining contest, which finished Glenmore 2-16, Clara 4-10.
