Earlier, Tottenham beat Swansea 3-1 in the opening Premier League game of the day at the Liberty Stadium.
Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice, with Spurs other goal coming from a Chico Own Goal.
It means Spurs move into fifth place, at least temporarily.
