Chelsea inflict 3-1 loss on Utd at Eto’o scores hatrick

Chelsea have beaten Manchester United by 3 goals to 1 at Stamford Bridge in the big Premier League game of the day.

Samuel Eto’o was the hero for Chelsea as he notched a hatrick, with United’s consolation goal coming from Javier Hernandez.

United were also reduced to ten men late on, when Nemanja Vidic was sent off.

It means Chelsea have now moved to within two points of league leaders Arsenal, while United stay in seventh and lie 14 points off the top of the table.

Earlier, Tottenham beat Swansea 3-1 in the opening Premier League game of the day at the Liberty Stadium.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice, with Spurs other goal coming from a Chico Own Goal.

It means Spurs move into fifth place, at least temporarily.
