Savour Kilkenny food festival kicking off for Bank Holiday weekend

The biggest food festival of the year gets underway in Kilkenny this evening.

Savour Kilkenny runs until Monday and boasts food markets, cookery demonstrations, food art and lots of dining events in local eateries.

Kilkenny has two Michelin stars for a reason, and this weekend will give people a chance to sample what the county has to offer.

The festival has embraced all sectors of the food community from artisan producers to restaurateurs, food agencies and food farmers.

Among the highlights are the food market on the parade plaza and the night of a thousand feasts which is on Sunday.

There’s lots on tonight including a food arts exhibition in the courtyard gallery in the castle yard and that is free.
