IT Carlow lose out in Fitzgibbon Cup opener

IT Carlow opened their Fitzgibbon championship campaign last night with a defeat at the hands of 2014 champions Waterford IT.

3-13 to 9 points is how it finished, Waterford had a huge tally of wides and even went down to 14 men early in the second half.

Earlier yesterday Kilkennys Cillian Buckley captained UCD to a 1-23 to 1-6 win in their opener against St Pats at Belfield.
