An investment of 11.5 million euro has been announced for Carlow today.
Healthcare company MSD has revealed plans to enhance facilities and services at their Carlow town site.
The announcement by Merck Sharpe & Dohme was made during an official visit by the US Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O Malley who toured the Carlow plant this morning.
It’s the latest phase in whats been a significant investment programme at the manufacturing facility that has seen €312 million pumped into the facilities there since they opened.
The site in Carlow is MSD’s first stand-alone human vaccine facility, producing vaccines for customers across the world.
The company employs over 2,000 people in Ireland across its five sites in Dublin, Carlow, Cork, Tipperary and Wicklow.
