Date for by-election expected to be made official soon

You can expect to see the smiling faces of the candidates looking for your vote beaming down from poles and lamp-posts in Carlow and Kilkenny within the next week or so.

Exactly one month from tomorrow we will go to the polls to vote in a replacement for Phil Hogan in the Dail.

It’s not official yet, but local Dail Deputy John Paul Phelan expects that to happen soon.

He says the writ should be moved this week or next.
