The Carers Association says the Government has made poor progress in its National Carers Strategy, since it was implemented in 2012.
The group, which represents thousands of local family carers says cuts to respite and housing grant funding are having a huge impact on the work they do.
There were 42 action points contained in the strategy.
Catherine Cox of the Carers Association told KCLR Live there has been some progress but other objectives have regressed.
