The New Ross bypass, a speed limit review and public lighting are just some of the items up for discussion at the monthly meeting of Piltown Municipal District today.
South Kilkenny Councillors will also be discussing a proposal to take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of a local monument when they meet this morning.
Councillor Pat Dunphy is proposing that the monument and amenity area at Sinnott’s Cross in Mooncoin be taken in charge by the council.
It was built to commemorate the fight for independence and in particular the ambush at that crossroads that took place in 1921.
