Fake Facebook page using Carlow cancer-sufferer’s image and information

A Carlow teenager with a rare form of cancer is calling for a fake Facebook page using her image to be taken down.

Shauntelle Tynan is currently being treated for histiocytosis and says a page going under the name Tamires Dias but using her information has now gained over 600,000 likes.

They even put up a post yesterday saying it was their last day of chemo and asking people to pray for them.

Meanwhile, Shauntelle will be heading to Texas again in two days time for further treatment and she and her family are constantly trying to raise funds.

She told KCLR Live this morning she’s worried that the other page may be using her to raise money for themselves.
