Local psychiatric nurses set for industrial action

Local psychiatric nurses in Carlow/Kilkenny could soon begin industrial action.

Psychiatric nurses around the country have voted to take action in protest over staff recruitment and retention across the mental health services.

They voted 87 percent in favour of industrial action, up to and including strike action.

The Board of the Psychiatric Nurses Association will meet on Thursday to decide on the form of industrial action.
