Castlecomer’s Owain Comerford says Katie Taylor has inspired generations of young boxers across Ireland.
Owain, a former boxer and now a journalist with irishboxing.com, was in Croke Park for Taylor’s final fight on Saturday night.

He says Katie’s 2012 Olympic success inspired him to take up boxing, and had an even bigger impact on young girls.
He believes her career has paved the way for the next generation of female Irish boxers, with young girls now seeing boxing as a real pathway.
