Clara National School principal Richie Mulrooney is set to retire after 29 years, bringing to a close a long and rewarding career in education.
He spoke to KCLR News of deep gratitude for the support of pupils, parents and the wider community, describing his time in Clara as a privilege.
Mr. Mulrooney will officially step down at the end of August, with deputy principal Mary Murphy succeeding him.
Yesterday he spoke to KCLR News about that decision and how the education system has changed over the years.
