A local addiction worker’s warning that drugs have no barriers.
Aiséirí has been providing treatment solutions for forty years in four counties, including for adolescents at their Aislinn premises in Ballyragget, Kilkenny.
Operations Manager Gareth Duffy says since they set up it’s become even easier to access drugs:
“Kids from all four corners of the country coming to us and they’re coming from the smallest villages in rural settings to the biggest cities. It doesn’t have any barriers with regard to that because it’s so accessible. To get drugs it’s as easy as going down to your local establishment to order a pint. These things are on tap at the moment where it’s just a phone call and there’s a meet-up in different places and whatever they want they can get here.”
