You’re being warned to stay on your guard when taking money out of an ATM.
The warning follows an attempted theft of money from an elderly man in Kilkenny City last week.

Gardaí say that as he was making a withdrawal from the machine on High Street he noticed a man standing behind him, acting suspiciously.
The Gardaí were called and the man was arrested.
Sergeant Paul Donohoe says it’s something they see a lot of and that people should always remember that ATMs are under CCTV surveillance by the Gardaí.
