Over €965,000 will be allocated to five Group Water Schemes in Carlow, while 21 schemes in Kilkenny will receive more than €924,000.
This funding is part of a national €47 million initiative aimed at enhancing the quality, quantity, and reliability of water services in rural areas, supporting over 250 projects nationwide.
Announcing the investment, Minister Noonan said:
“Group Water Schemes provide vital water services for people in rural areas and I have long championed them as an important part of the solution to sustainable rural development. I’m delighted to be able to announce this investment today through my Department’s Rural Water Programme.
“Clean, safe drinking water from good quality supplies is one of the most fundamental services that communities depend on and today’s announcement will ensure that the health and wellbeing of people living in rural Carlow and Kilkenny will be protected into the future.”
