Amber Refuge takes part in 16 day awareness campaign

The Amber Women’s Refuge in Kilkenny says gender based violence is still a huge issue and they’re regularly at capacity.

The issue is being raised locally with 16 days of an awareness campaign beginning today to draw attention to violence against women and men.

The local centre is marking the occasion locally with a balloon release and an awareness campaign

Claire O Neill from the Amber Women’s Refuge says they’re full quite often because people are more willing to seek help now.
