Ambulance Damaged Again By CAS Works – Order of Malta

The Kilkenny Unit of the Order of Malta claims their ambulance has been damaged again due to the Central Access Scheme works.
A statement from the charity last night expressed frustration at the CAS works while renewing their appeal for a permanent home. The unit is currently based in the Old Auxilary Hospital in Wolfe Tone Street, in a space that is on loan from the HSE.
The group says a large trench lies “just feet from the front door” and access to the site is dangerous after dark. They say an ambulance was damaged again yesterday, and there is a lack of space for their vehicles to get in and out of their base.
In the past few years, the local Order of Malta has been searching for a permanent home but has been unable to find a suitable premises to rent.
