A Garda arrested as part of the investigation into the unauthorised removal of drugs from a Garda Station has been released without charge but suspended from duty.
The substances seized went missing in January 2024 and on Wednesday six people were detained by investigating Gardaí.
As well as the now suspended Garda, the five others who are not members of An Garda Síochána too have been released without charge.
A Senior Investigating Officer in the Eastern Region, which spans ten counties including Carlow and Kilkenny, is leading the investigations which a spokesperson says is looking at all of the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
Files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
