Urgent investigations of a site in Bagenalstown are being carried out by the County Council, according to their director of services.

Séamus O’Connor says that there have been allegations of asbestos in the old meat factory on the Royal Oak Road.

There has been ongoing talk about developing the site for years since its closure and speaking to KCLR today, Séamus O’Connor says they’re hoping to make that happen now.
