The average class size in our primary schools is apparently at its lowest level in two decades but there’s still overcrowding.
The Irish Independent’s reporting that there are 4,000 fewer pupils in first-level education last year but nearly one in ten were still in groupings of 30 or more.
10.9% in Carlow and 8% in Kilkenny are in such settings however the average class size locally has just under 23 pupils in each county.
