Back to school costs have increased for parents in Kilkenny and Carlow

It’s getting more expensive to send children to school in Kilkenny and Carlow.

The average cost of sending a child to secondary school is up around 24 euro on last year and is now around 15 hundred euro.

While the cost for primary school children has also gone up by around 60 euro to more than 11 hundred euro.

The figures are part of a study from the Irish League of Credit Unions, with the survey showing 71% of schools are seeking a “voluntary contribution”

School books top the price list of most expensive items for parents.
