One local town is set for a boost in visitor numbers next year as the Leinster Fleadh is heading this way.
Bagenalstown has been announced as the host town for next year’s regional competition with thousands of musicians and traditional music lovers to visit over the three days in July.
It was in Longford last year and those organising it in Bagenalstown have been told it will cost in the region of €50,000 to €60,000 to host it.
Councillor Andy Gladney told KCLR its fantastic news for the town and says any help they can get will be welcome.
