Balloon release and walk planned in Kilkenny this evening for ‘Word Suicide Prevention Day’

Those of you in Kilkenny today are being invited to mark World Suicide Prevention Day with a balloon release and a walk through the city.

It’s being organised by Teach Tom, which is a local suicide prevention charity.

It’s founder, Angela Hayes, says this evening’s event will begin from MacDonagh Junction at 6.30, heading towards St Francis Bridge, through Irish Town and on to the Canal Square.

Speaking to KCLR News, she says there’ll hopefully be a big crowd taking part.

There’s also a balloon release in Carlow town Park this evening from 7:15pm to mark the day.
