Yesterday was the warmest day of the year in Kilkenny so far with temperatures hitting 19 degrees.
And Carlow wasn’t far behind with a high of 17.7 degrees Celsius recorded in Tullow.
Meanwhile, despite the wet weather on Sunday, it seems this April was the driest since continuous records began in 1958.
Only 18mm of rain fell in Kilkenny last month while Carlow’s Oak Park only recorded 15.8 mm of rainfall in April.
