The Chief Executive of Barnardos says you “can be absolutely certain” that somewhere in Ireland a case similar to Grace’s is just waiting to be exposed.
Fergus Finlay was speaking to KCLR as yesterday the HSE and Tusla revealed that another woman, who’s being called ‘Mary’, was left in a different foster home despite others being removed amid abuse allegations.
The details came to light in a review designed to help both the Health Service and the child and family agency to learn from their mistakes.
It follows two reports published last month into the so-called ‘Grace case’, where Grace was left in a South Eastern foster home.
Speaking to The Way It Is, Fergus Finlay says nothing’s ever going to change unless the bigger systems in this country do.
