Barrow levels being monitored for risk of flooding in coming days

The main concerns are for the area around Graiguenamanagh

The Graiguenamanagh area remains the main cause for concern locally this morning as flooding in most other areas has now receded.

Kilkenny County Council say they’re monitoring the River Barrow levels upstream and are anticipating some rise today.

Inistioge, Thomastown, Freshford and Callan were all badly flooded in recent days but are clear again now.

Tim Butler of Kilkenny County Council says they’re keeping a close eye on the Barrow with the risk of flooding still high for the next few days.
