“Beware, be scam aware” say Gardaí after one of their Kilkenny based crew was subject to a suspect call

Gardaí continue to warn about scams as one of their own received a suspect call.

While preparing for a shift, the Kilkenny based Garda noticed a call on Google Meet claiming to be from the force’s Financial Intelligence Unit.

Immediately suspicious by the mode of contact, they attempted to record the call with a secondary device before the caller hung up.

They warn; “Beware, apparently these scam calls through random email addresses are becoming more frequent. Beware, be scam aware.”
