Virgin Media Ireland has been granted planning permission to replace an existing telecommications mast in Kilkenny City.
They’re to replace an 14 metre structure in the Hebron Estate with a taller 20 metre mast.
This will also accommodate additional dishes on the mast for the supply of broadband and phone services to their customers in the area.
Permission had been refused for an earlier application for a 22 metre mast.
Kilkenny County Council applied 5 conditions to the permission including facilitating other telecommunication and broadband providers with access to the mast.
