Bobby Aylward is welcoming the news that nursing staff have been reinstated at St Patrick’s Centre in Kilkenny.
Management have said that 10 nursing staff who were last week suspended because of patient safety concerns – are back at work.
It’s not yet clear what gave rise to those concerns, with relatives of some of the residents being told it was over clerical and procedural issues.
Deptuty Aylward says it’s good that staff are back working, but there are still some issues that need to be addressed at the centre.
He says “there’s an ongoing problem in St Patrick’s, and hopes it won’t happen again”
