Kilkenny handball legend Michael ‘Ducksie’ Walsh passes away after illness

Kilkenny handball legend Michael Ducksie Walsh has died in hospital this afternoon. It’s understood he passed away surrounded by family and friends at Beaumount Hospital in Dublin.
He was hospitalised on Saturday after suffering a suspected stroke as he was returning from a tournament in Cavan.
KCLR news understands that the local legend was on life-support in hospital where his family and friends have been keeping vigil by his bedside.
Ducksie has scooped over 35 All-Ireland titles throughout this career. He remained passionate about getting coverage for young people taking part in handball, and highlighted the issue during his last interview on KCLR last Thursday (interview below begins at 31 minutes).
The County Chairman of Kilkenny handball club has paid tribute to Ducksie Walsh this afternoon.
