Burglars who ransacked two County Carlow homes used cleaning products on their entry points

Gardaí believe two burglaries in Carlow may be linked.

Homes were forcibly entered in the Rainestown area and also between Ballon and Bunclody between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday (18th Aug).

The properties were substantially ransacked during although nothing was stolen.

Gardaí say the offenders used unusual methods – Crime Prevention Officer Sgt Eddie Brennan says “The connection between both burglaries is that it would appear that the offenders used cleaning products or bleach in both houses to clean the points where they entered into the houses so again they’re connected in that regard, so there may have been others in the area, there may have been other houses that were tried in the region so we’re looking for witnesses in those areas”.
