Bus Éireann says X7 route through Callan and Kilkenny will stay on the road for now

The X7 Expressway bus which serves Callan and Kilkenny will stay on the road – for now.

In a statement to KCLR news this lunchtime Bus Éireann says it has no immediate plans to remove the Clonmel-Dublin service.

It was due to be axed on Monday last but that plan was suspended while talks between the company and unions were continuing at the Workplace Relations Commission.

Those talks broke down last night and the company says it will now re-assess what further action is appropriate.

Efforts had been ongoing to avoid all out strike action at the company.
