Another hot day’s on the cards and it’s likely our locality will see some of the warmest of the weather.
Yesterday, Carlow matched the record for the month of May (28.4C) which was set at in county Kerry on the 31 May,1997. While the mercury was higher at Shannon Airport at 28.6C.
Kilkenny retains the record for having the highest temperature in Ireland, the 33.3C detected on the grounds of Kilkenny Castle on the 26th June, 1887.
Met Éireann’s forecast for Leinster shows that we could hit 30 degrees today, noting it’ll be hottest in southern parts.
