Carlow and Kilkenny MEPs among those set to vote to elect the President of the European Commission today

Members of the European Parliament will vote to elect the President of the European Commission today.

MEPs will ballot on whether Ursula Von Der Leyen will serve a second term.

Kilkenny’s Kathleen Funchion of Sinn Féin has already declared she’ll not be voting for her – all four of Fianna Fail’s MEPs, including Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, have announced the same, something criticised by Fine Gael.
