Carlow Councillor calls on coastguard to have refuelling base in county

A local councillor is calling for a refuelling station to be put in place in Carlow for the coastguard helicopter.

Arthur McDonald says when the helicopter is needed locally, it takes 20 minutes for it to come from Waterford, then it can only search for 20 minutes before it has to go back to its base to be refuelled.

The Bagenalstown representative says they do a great service and could do with some help……
