Carlow FG councillor says leadership race not of great concern to local members

Who will or won’t lead Fine Gael isn’t of much concern to members on the ground locally.
That’s according to Carlow Councillor and Cathaoirleach of the County Council, John Murphy.
He was speaking ahead of Fine Gael’s Parliamentary Party Meeting this evening, during which it’s expected that Taoiseach Enda Kenny will address the leadership issue.
Social Protection Minister, Leo Varadkar and Housing Minister, Simon Coveney are the front-runners to take his place at the moment.
However, Councillor Murphy told KCLR News from what he can see locally support for the two is fairly evenly divided.
