
Scoring fifteen points Carlow senior footballers held Antrim to a draw in a lively opening Allianz National Football League game at St. Pauls Belfast yesterday.
Carlow held a one point lead 0-7 to 0-6 at half time but were rocked by an Antrim goal three minutes in to the last half, With thirteen minutes remaining the home side went three points clear 1-10 to 0-10,
However it was from here that the Carlow men dug deep and came up with the goods as they kicked some excellent points and it was Granges John Murphy with his third point in a row that levelled the sides with three minutes to go. This was an intensive good team performance from Carlow. Paul Broderick kicked eight points as Carlow came away with a share of the points
Final Score – Carlow 0-15, Antrim 1-12
Carlow minor footballers also were in Belfast yesterday playing Antrim minors in a challenge game. Carlow won by a goal on a scoreline

In the Bord na Mona Walsh Cup semi-final two goals at the end of each half was the big difference between Galway and Carlow at Cullen Park
Galway led by 1-9 to 0-9 at half time
Final Score – Galway 2-18, Carlow 0-15
Dublin beat Laois in the other semi-final so Galway will meet Dublin in the Final on Sunday next
