Carlow GAA has appointed Joe Murphy as interim manager of their senior footballers following the departure of Shane Curran.
Murphy will take charge for the remainder of the 2025 season, starting with Carlow’s Leinster Senior Football Championship preliminary round game against Meath in Navan this Sunday.
Murphy, a former Éire Óg and Carlow player, has had success as a manager, leading Naas to three consecutive Kildare senior football titles from 2022 to 2024. His appointment comes at a key moment as Carlow look to steady themselves following a difficult start to the year.
Carlow face a tough challenge against Meath, but Murphy’s local knowledge and recent coaching success may provide a boost as they begin their Leinster Championship campaign.
