Carlow man held in his home for up to an hour by burglars

A Carlow man was left traumatised after three burglars forced their way into his home and robbed him in the early hours of St Patrick’s Day.

It happened at Rathornan near the Arboretum, outside Leighlinbridge.

At around midnight the man says he heard a noise outside his front door which he thought was his neighbour.

When he went to have a look, he was met by three men who forced their way in and held him in the house for up to an hour while they ransacked the place and eventually made off with a sum of money.

Speaking to KCLR, Sergeant Peter McConnon says they’re looking for anyone with information to contact them.
