Carlow Senator not happy with plans to replace a prefab at Carlow Ambulance Service

“What is it with this government and prefabs?”

That’s the question being asked by Carlow Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor as it’s understood the HSE plans to replace one prefab with another for the local ambulance service.

For years, Carlow-based paramedics have made complaints about the conditions they’re expected to work under at their station on the Athy Road.

From Monday, they’ll have to move to the Kilkenny base because they’ve said they won’t put up with sewage blockages, awful smells, no hot running water and no heating anymore.

Speaking to KCLR News, Senator Murnane O’Connor says the response she’s received from the Department of Health has been less than satisfactory.
