A Carlow town resident was woken by the sound of their car window being smashed.
It happened in the Friars Green area on the Tullow Road at about 5:20am on the 17th of February.
Coins were taken from the vehicle’s centre console and the glove box gone through and mobile phone and container of tablets removed and left on driver’s seat.
Sgt John Duffy has this advice for car owners; “I suppose if anything what this is showing is for people to be a little bit vigilant around their cars, even particularly parking at home, that they’re not leaving things out in the car for people to see, I mean, what would appear just maybe a little bit of change to somebody it can be an encouragement for someone who sees that to say ‘oh look, I’d like to have that’ and they break the window of your car”.
