New dog kennels, a fenced area and relocating the visitors’ centre are amongst the works being carried out at the Carlow/Kilkenny dog shelter.

The local pound say they’ll be closed to the public for the next three weeks while these improvement works are underway.

You’re being asked to only attend the dog shelter by appointment.

Just last week the tender for new management for the centre went out to the public as the ISPCA announced they won’t be running it from the end of February next year.
