Carlow Ambulance workers to stay at their base while discussions on their premises continue

Carlows Ambulance crew has decided to stay on at their base on the Athy Road while a compromise is worked out between them and management.

They were due to operate from Kilcreene in Kilkenny from today after their current home was condemned last week.

The HSE says they plan to replace their current prefab with another but they haven’t given a timeline for it.

The 18-strong crew was in a building with no hot running water, no heating and sewage blockage and smells.

Meanwhile Senator Jennifer Murnane O Connor says there’s other buildings on the grounds there that could be looked at.
