Carlow’s Mayor claims IDA not taking Carlow seriously

Carlow’s Mayor says the IDA simply doesn’t seem to be taking Carlow seriously.

Since Christmas the position of IDA Business Development Manager for the South East has had to be covered by the person who’s also Head of Regional Development.

It’s expected to be another couple of months before a person is found to fill that role.

Currently the South East has the highest level of unemployment as a region at about 3% above the national average.

Mayor of Carlow, Fintan Phelan says it’s leaving an already neglected region more vulnerable and the IDA really needs to take action.
