Chelsea top of the league as Liverpool hammer Arsenal
Chelsea are top of the Premier League table this evening.
They beat Newcastle 3-nil at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, thanks to an Eden Hazard hatrick.
Chelsea move ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, who both dropped points today.
City were held to a scoreless draw away to Norwich at Carrow Road.
While Arsenal were thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool earlier in the day’s opening Premier League game at Anfield.
Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic scored to give Hull City a 2-nil win against 10 man Sunderland at the Stadium of Light- Wes Brown was sent off for the home side after 4 minutes.
Two deadline day signings helped Crystal Palace to a 3-1 win at home to West Brom.
Tom Ince and Joe Ledley were on the mark there, with Marouane Chamakh also scoring.
Southampton and Stoke City drew 2 all at St. Mary’s-
And West Ham are out of the relegation zone, after Kevin Nolan scored twice to give them a 2-nil win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
