Concerns raised after the downing, damaging and defacement of General Election posters in Carlow and Kilkenny

Concerns have been raised locally following the downing, damaging or defacement of General Election posters.

A number have either fallen foul of the recent weather or were deliberately destroyed at locations across Carlow and Kilkenny – a few on the approach roads to the city from Callan and Kells while in Thomastown some were found on the road and in fields.

While others have been embellished or negatively added to.

No one party or individual has been targeted – but if the action was deliberate, there may be legal consequences.
