Confusion remains over the future of a local childcare facility in Callan.
While the creche run by the Droichead Family Resource Centre in the town will now remain open for at least another couple of months, they have been served with a Notice to Quit by Callan Community Network Ltd.
However, the Network’s landlords, Callan Friary Trust, have now issued a statement saying that this notice should be withdrawn immediately, and that they’ve been allowing the Network to have that building rent-free contrary to their original agreement.
It’s understood though that this is disputed by Callan Community Network.
Meanwhile, a sit-in protest organised by friends and parents of the creche will go ahead as planned tonight.
They will also hold a picket outside the premises from 8.15am tomorrow.
