Council staff are out again this morning dealing with the aftermath of Storm Emma

Crews are trying to get all roads open to traffic again

Kilkenny county council has crews out in some of the areas worst affected by the snow this morning.

They’re hoping to get all local roads open and cleared for traffic today.

Tim Butler, Director of Services with the local authority in Kilkenny says a good number of people who were quite isolated have contacted them over the last number of days.

He says they hope to have the remainder of people who were completely blocked in freed by this afternoon.

Meanwhile the risk of flooding remains for some areas as the snow continues to thaw.

For parts of Carlow though there is a warning to conserve your water.

The supply at Raheenleigh, which serves Myshall, Fenagh, Carrigduff, Kildavin, Clonegal and Ballon is reaching the point now where demand is almost too much.

Senior Engineer with Carlow County Council, Brian O’Donovan told KCLR News they think the reason the supply levels have dropped is probably due to leaks
