Funding to permit the appointment of a full-time Access and Inclusion Officer should be identified by Kilkenny County Council: that’s the view of Green Party Councillor Maria Dollard.
The matter was raised through a motion she tabled at the Council’s May meeting – Director of Services Mary Mulholland outlined that most rural counties “unfortunately” aren’t in a position to have a full-time dedicated access officer but that the Council’s Disability Group was working well across all service areas.
Councillor Dollard told KCLR News that she was disappointed by the reply;
KCLR News has contacted Kilkenny County Council for a response. Meanwhile, find the Government’s direction on this here.
